How is SDR pay structured?
SDR pay is a combination of base salary (average 75%) and commissions (average 25%).
How do SDRs earn commissions?
SDRs earn commissions by booking meetings and sourcing early-stage deals for the sales teams to pursue. As an incentive to overachieve, SDRs earn higher commission rates ("accelerators") as they continue to surpass their targets.
Do SDRs go into an office?
Our SDRs have the flexibility to train and work in a hybrid environment, enjoying the comfort of home as well as networking and collaborating in local offices. Events like our annual Sales Kickoff also provide opportunities for travel.
What is the interview process like?
Once we select your résumé, we’ll schedule a short phone call to learn more about you and your interest in Zscaler. Next, we’ll ask qualifying candidates to complete a survey and video interview with an SDR manager. The final step is a panel interview and role-playing scenario with our SDR leadership team.

We have a fantastic track record of promoting SDRs to other roles at Zscaler, including Sales, Sales Enablement, Renewals, Customer Success, and SDR Leadership. SDR promotions typically happen 12-18 months in the role, with 75% stepping into Sales positions.
How does Zscaler train SDRs for success?
Our SDR leaders bring passion and experience into our SDR Bootcamp to help you get off to a fast start. In classroom lectures, role playing exercises, peer shadowing, and buddy guided practice rounds, you’ll learn how to cold call, use top notch SDR tools, and speak confidently about Zscaler and cybersecurity.
